J. Thomas Malatesta

Mr. Malatesta joined Monument Capital Group in February 2010 after serving as Chief Executive Officer of ThreatStorm International, Inc., an early-stage cyber and physical security solutions company that provides tactical and strategic solutions that effectively deal with increased threats to both corporate and government entities. With its best-of-breed strategic partners, it functioned as a “quarterback,” bringing a team together to resolve a problem. Immediately prior to that, he served as President and Chief Operating Officer, and then Chief Executive Officer, of Cybrinth, Inc., a consultancy with proprietary methodology that provided cyber security solutions to clients in the financial services, legal services and transportation sectors, as well as U.S. civilian and military government agencies.

Previously, Mr. Malatesta served with BroadReach Management, L.L.C., a boutique merchant banking group, and with Incyte Capital Assets, L.L.C., where his focus was sourcing and screening private equity investments that were centered on technology solutions for the overall security marketplace. At the same time, he also was an advisor to the Chesapeake Innovation Center in Annapolis, Maryland. Prior to this, he served on a “turn-around” assignment at Smith Corona as Vice President of New Markets and Vice President of Product Development.

From 1983 to 1993, Mr. Malatesta was President of JTM&CO, an award-winning full-service marketing firm serving Fortune 100 corporations, middle-market enterprises and emerging technology companies. His earlier career includes management-level positions in marketing, operations and crisis management with Procter & Gamble and Time, Inc., among others.

Mr. Malatesta is a former candidate for the U.S. Senate in California and holds a B.Sc. from the University of Santa Clara.
