Matthew Farkas

Prior to joining Monument Capital Group, Mr. Farkas served as a portfolio manager for The Winchester Group Dynamic Equity Fund, a $300 million highly concentrated long only equity fund. Winchester Group Inc. is a $1.5 billion asset management firm catering to ultra high net worth individuals and small institutions.

Mr. Farkas has over twenty five years experience in the investment business. Mr. Farkas started his career in investment banking at Ladenburg Thalmann & Co specializing in Media and Entertainment, and then spent nine years as an institutional salesman at NatWest Securities and Needham and Company. As an institutional broker, Mr. Farkas was responsible for covering large pension funds, mutual funds and large hedge funds.

Mr. Farkas also worked for Rogue River Investments, a hedge fund, where he was a General Partner; he subsequently served as a senior equities analyst for the CRT Mid–Cap growth fund and then as a Co-Portfolio Manager for the Paradigm Capital Small Cap Growth Fund. Rogue River was a small hedge fund catering primarily to high net worth individuals which beat the S&P 500 benchmark in each year of the funds existence. Mr. Farkas played a key role in starting up the CRT Mid Cap Growth fund. The Paradigm Capital Small Cap Growth Fund was a $150 million long only small cap growth product which was part of Paradigm Capital Management, the $2 billion asset management division of C.L. King and Associates based in Albany, New York.

Mr. Farkas has been active in charitable organizations in New York, including the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, an institution with which his family has been associated for over 50 years, the New York Public Library and the ASPCA.

Mr. Farkas received his Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts in 1984 and his MBA in Finance from the Stern School of Business at New York University in 1986.
