Daniel J. Bloom Prior to joining Monument Capital Group, Mr. Bloom served in various operating capacities in the private and public sectors including with Rockwell Collins, Inc., an aerospace and defense company, with operations in 27 countries; the United States Department of Commerce, Bankers' Association for Finance and Trade and Export-Import Bank of the United States. Mr. Bloom brings expertise in global trade, defense acquisition, policy development, and risk management, as well as extensive qualifications in merchant banking and multilateral development banking. Previously, as Manager of International Government Relations at Rockwell Collins, Mr. Bloom regularly interfaced with members of Congress and key decision makers of various industry groups, trade associations, and regional business councils regarding defense related transactions and financings, international policy, legislative, and regulatory affairs. Previously in his role at the U.S. Department of Commerce, Mr. Bloom managed a global portfolio of international trade and project finance transactions valued in excess of $300 billion, developed and coordinated an effective advocacy policy for the U.S. government on behalf of U.S. commercial interests and military sales, and was instrumental in attaining more than $62 billion in signed international procurements. Highly regarded for his efforts to coordinate and execute advocacy strategies with the President's Cabinet and National Security Council, Mr. Bloom established a solid U.S. commercial presence in five multilateral development banks and shaped strategy that markedly enhanced global business-development opportunities for U.S. companies. Previously, Mr. Bloom was a Principal with Thompson and Waldron, a Virginia based law firm where he conducted merchant banking and risk mitigation activities for the firm's clients on international development and finance projects, totaling more than $1 billion. Previously, Mr. Bloom served as project manager to the Chairman of Export Import Bank of the United States reforming credit and guarantee policies for small business exporters. Mr. Bloom earned a BA in International Relations from Northeastern Illinois University, and he also earned an MA in public finance from The George Washington University. Mr. Bloom has also published many articles including one on Reforming the Congressional Budget Process in the Government Accountants Journal. |
